Subliminal Messages

Everyone has heard of the concept of subliminal messages in movies.  The idea of flashing some words or an image on the screen for such a brief moment, that the viewer doesn’t even realize that he or she saw anything.  Well recently while I was flying, my airline company decided to do its own version of a subliminal message during the in-flight movie.  But someone really needs to explain the whole “subliminal” part to them.

I’m just sitting there watching the movie when suddenly the word “Delta” just appears in the middle of the screen…and stays there as the movie continues.  So for a good 15 seconds or so I get to enjoy watching a movie with the word “Delta” superimposed over the screen.  The airline companies are so desperate, they’re not even trying to be clever with their advertising anymore.
